We’ve done another limited edition poster in honor of the Día de los Muertos festival occurring on the Mendocino Coast.  This year’s poster is inspired by José Guadalupe Posada’s “La Calavera Catrina.” Only 100 posters were made and they are being sold here on the coast throughout the Fall for $20. All proceeds will support Safe Passage Family Resource Center (strengthening our community by strengthening the families that live here). Posters are available at Safe Passage (Fort Bragg), Racine’s (Fort Bragg), Little River Inn (Little River), the Stanford Inn (Mendocino) and here at Clo Mor Press (Fort Bragg). The posters were letterpressed on Fluorescent White Crane Lettra 300 gsm (100% cotton) paper with Egglplant and Red inks and are 11 x 14 in size. Just click on the thumbnails below to take a look at the poster. (If you don’t live on the Mendocino Coast and wish to order the poster remotely, please send us an email with your shipping address and we can help to arrange a donation via check or PayPal and calculate postage rates. There are also a few of last year’s posters available which benefited Big Brothers Big Sisters … please see our October 4, 2010 blog for details of last year’s Sugar Skull inspired poster).

I’ve always loved Day of the Day (El Día de los Muertos), the artwork and tradition of honoring those that have passed. This year we really wanted to do something special for the day, especially since there are quite a lot of Day of the Dead events here on the Mendocino Coast. So, we created and letterpressed a limited edition poster inspired by this rich tradition. Only 100 posters were made and they are being sold here on the coast throughout the Fall for $20. All proceeds will support ¿Qué Onda?/What’s Happening?, a Big Brothers Big Sisters youth art gallery and creativity center that will be opening in Fort Bragg on 11/1. The posters were letterpressed on Fluorescent White Crane Lettra 300 gsm (100% cotton) paper with Clay and Cherry inks and are 11 x 14 in size. Just click on the thumbnails below to take a look at the poster. (If you don’t live on the Mendocino Coast and wish the purchase the poster remotely, please send us an email with your shipping address and we can work out payment via check or PayPal and postage rates).

Our quote tool is now online, allowing quick access to pricing for both our letterpress wedding invitation and holiday card lines. When viewing one of our invitation or card designs, simply click on the green QUOTE button to the left. Because we offer so many paper options, we have decided to simplify things for the web site and provide online pricing just on Crane Lettra 110# with matching envelopes. If you desire other paper options like deckle edges, double-thick card or colored envelopes, please email or call for pricing.

For those of you unfamiliar with Crane Lettra, the paper is made from 100% Cotton and was developed expressly for letterpress printing. It is available in 110# (300 gsm) weight and in 2-ply 220# (600 gsm) for those desiring an extra thick invitation or card. With a distinguished clientele dating back to the American Revolution, Crane is the United States’ premier maker of fine social papers. Crane uses by-products from the textile industry and reclaims textile cuttings for their papers. These papers are elemental chlorine free and Crane is also certified under ISO 14001. In addition, Crane uses alternative steam energy and is working on several other mills that will use alternative energy sources.  To read more about Crane’s environmental policies please go to Crane’s commitment to the environment.

Welcome to our new site!

August 10th, 2010 Lisa

Hello. Not only are we launching a new site, but we are re-launching Clo Mor Press. Our wedding line hit retail stores last summer and now we have the entire line represented on this site, with our holiday line coming on-line at the end of this summer and our baby line slated for 2011. This is an exciting time for us at Clo Mor Press. We are really hoping to bring our sense of style and love of letterpress to a wider audience.

We hope our blog will serve as a great resource on topics ranging from letterpress printing, letterpress wedding invitations, etiquette, letterpress baby announcements and holiday cards, Clo Mor Press news, along with general ramblings on style and design, and, of course, whatever else we can dream up. Please subscribe and stay tuned!
